Dr. Falguera achieves international board certification in Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery

On September 26, 2026, the Board of Directors of the International Board for Certification in Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery (IBCFPRS), on the recommendation of its Credentials Committee, voted to recognize Dr. Mabel Falguera as a Diplomate of the Board.

What is the IBCFPRS?

The IBCFPRS is an international certification board in facial plastic and reconstructive surgery, headquartered in Alexandria, Virginia (United States). Its certification attests to the training and practice of surgeons dedicated to this specialty.

What certification requires

To obtain it, candidates must have completed an approved training program and passed a psychometrically validated written and oral examination recognized by the International Federation of Facial Plastic Surgery Societies. The examination covers plastic and reconstructive surgery of:

  • The face
  • The eyelids
  • The nose
  • The head and neck

Candidates must also demonstrate a continuous practice in facial plastic and reconstructive surgery and meet the additional requirements set by the Board.

With this certification, Dr. Falguera may refer to herself as a Board-certified Facial Plastic Surgeon or as a Diplomate of the International Board for Certification in Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery.

"This is a great accomplishment and reflects the highest international standards that exist for our specialty."

Mr. Santdeep Paun, FRCS, President of the IBCFPRS, in his letter of congratulations.

Continuing education for the benefit of our patients

This certification adds to her training as a specialist in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and her dedication to facial surgery, and is part of the commitment to continuing education that guides our practice in facelift surgery, Cirugía de la Mirada®, the Contour Lift and facial harmonization.
